Q. Is there an upgrade for Trailer Life RV Campground Finder?
A. Trailer Life RV Campground Finder v. 3.0 is the latest update available

Q. Is there a manual?
A. No.  However, most operation questions can be answered using the on-line help feature.  With the program running and the CD-ROM disk in the drive, select "Help" and choose the desired topic.  Printing the topic for review away from the computer may be helpful.

It is recommended that you take a look at the online tutorial, which contains basic information and directions on how the program works.  After clicking on Help, click on the Contents tab, and then on Trailer Life RV Campground Finder Tutorial.  Sections are provided on Getting Started,  moving around the map, finding a campground, printing, creating and using User Views, and much more.

Q. When I zoom in, the map turns yellow, and streets do not appear.
A. That is an indication that the program can’t locate the data on the CD-ROM disk.

1.   Make sure the CD-ROM disk is in the CD-ROM drive.

2.   In the program, select "File", "Configure", “Map Data Drive”.

3.   Select proper drive for location for map data.

It is possible that the cursor has zoomed to areas not in the United States such as Canada or Mexico.  Click the "Zoom USA" button to view the entire continent.

If, by zooming into the desired location and the specific street you are looking for does not appear, but surrounding streets do, please see the answer to "When I search for a street or city, I get the message "No Matches Found" or click here for more information.

Q. When I search for a street or city, I get the message "No matches found".
A.

It is possible that the program can’t locate the data on the CD-ROM disk, that the spelling is incorrect, or that the street or city isn’t in the database.

1. Make sure the CD-ROM disk is in the CD-ROM drive.

2. Check the spelling of the street or place. Occasionally, unexpected spaces in words are found in
the directory. For example, when looking for "DeKalb, IL", traditionally spelled as one word, the
search option will only find it if a space is added (De Kalb, IL).

3. Simplify the search by clarifying your entries. As an example, instead of looking for "South State
    Street" try looking for "State."

If roads do not appear, refer to the question "When I zoom in, the map turns yellow"

Q. When I zoom in to the 3000 foot scale, I see small rectangles with numbers inside them.  What are they, and what do the numbers mean?
A. The blocks indicate landmarks, and the numbers refer to a landmark type – lakes, ponds, schools, cemeteries, hills, etc.  If you zoom to the 1000 foot scale or less, the landmark names and icon will replace the numbered blocks.  Click on Help, and look up "Landmarks" to find a listing of what each landmark number represents.

Q. Can I run the Program without a CD-ROM?
A. Yes. Look in your help files, under "Optimize Program Speed"

Q. I think I have found a database error. What should I do?
A. At Undertow Software, we strive to bring you the highest quality, most up to date database available. Occasionally, there will be errors or omissions in the map database we use.  In this case, make a copy of the area on the map that is incorrect (see your help topic file for exporting a map in "File Commands") and fax it at (978) 682-3077.  If you have found a problem with information pertaining to a campground, please contact the Good Sam Club via e-mail at books@tl.com

Q. My question is not answered in the Frequently Asked Questions. How do I reach Technical Support?
A. In the Technical Support department, we strive to provide quality product support for all of our applications. We have also worked to create and maintain these Frequently Asked Questions for 24-hour Customer Support. If Undertow Software's Frequently Asked Questions do not fulfill your needs, please contact the Technical Support by sending us an e-mail.

Q. When I search for a street, the following error message appears: “Runtime Error 3075: Syntax Error in query expression ‘lat between ##.#### and ##.#### and lon between ##.#### and ##.####’.
A. This error is generally caused as a result of a non "English (United States)" Regional Setting.  To change your Regional Settings.

a. Go to 'Start'>'Settings'>'Control Panel'.

b. Double-click on 'Regional Settings'.

c. Make sure that 'English (United States) is chosen. If it is not, choose it from the drop-down list.

1. Double click on 'My Computer'

2. Double click on your CD-ROM drive (tlcfusamaps)

3. Double click on the file that says 'Setup.exe' or just 'setup'. The icon will look
    like a computer screen.

Q. Every time I try to start Trailer Life, I get the following error message: “Invalid Path: X:\\tlcf.mdb.” When I press ‘OK’, the program never comes up.  What can I do?

b. Select 'Start'>'Settings'>'Control Panel'.

c. Double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs'.

d. Click on 'Trailer Life...' and click on 'Add/Remove'.

Once uninstalled, reinstall the program, making sure to either accept the default folder name, or specify a folder name, not just a drive letter..

Q. How do I get rid of the campgrounds and parks that are displayed on the map?
A. On the right-hand side of the map, click the ‘Location Info’ tab, then click on the ‘Filter’ tab.  If you check all of the options, the campgrounds will disappear.

Q. Will Trailer Life RV Campground Finder run on a Macintosh system?
A. We do not have a version that is compatible with the Macintosh operating system.

Q. How do I run the program off of the hard drive?
A. Detailed instructions for copying the data files to your hard drive are contained in the program's Help file.  Refer to the tutorial Advanced section for "Can I run the program  without the CD-ROM disk?"

Q. What number do I call to get a replacement CD-ROM or to inquire about my purchase?
A. Please contact the Affinity Group at 1-800-234-3450.

Q. When I try to find a campground, all I see on the map is a bunch of red and blue P's? Where is the information?
A.

1. Open 'Trailer Life RV Campground Finder v2.0

2. Zoom into the city or state that you would like information on or near.

3. Select one of the P's (a campsite), by left-clicking on one of them.

4. Red, white, and blue lines will go around the selected 'P'.

5. On the top-right corner, there will be three 'Tabs', select 'Location Info'.

6. Underneath the tab, there will be a box with the selected campground's information in it.

Q. When I open 'Trailer Life RV Campground Finder 2.0', it asks me if the CD is in the CD-ROM. Do I have to wait the suggested 10 sec., every time I open the program?
A. If the CD was in the drive before that message appeared, then 'no' you don't have to wait.  But if you just put the CD in the CD-ROM when it asked for it, then 'yes' you have to wait. The reason for this is that when you insert the CD into the drive, it needs around 10 sec. to be able to access the information on the CD to run the program correctly.

Q. When I zoom onto a state, there are just too many campgrounds to search  though.  Is there a way to filter through the campgrounds for certain things that I am looking for in a campsite?
A.
Yes.

1. Open 'Trailer Life RV Campground Finder 2.0'.

2. Select the area/state that you have interest in.

3. To filter out unwanted campgrounds, on the top-right corner, there will be three different 'Tabs'.

4. Select 'Location Info'.

5. Right below that, there will be three more tabs.

6. Select 'Filter', this will give you options on filtering the campsites.

Q.
I know the red and blue P's are campgrounds, but why are they different colors. Also why are
there different colored (red and blue) circles with S's, A's, and H's in them?
A. The letters and colors represent different types of facilities.  For to display a legend:

1. Open 'Trailer Life RV Campground Finder 2.0'

2. Select the area/state that you have interest in.

3. On the top-right corner, there will be three different 'Tabs'

4. Select 'Location Info'

5. Right below that, there will be three more tabs.

6. Select 'Legend'

7. Information will appear, that will describe each items in question and there function.

Q. Why does a ‘Location Information’ dialog box appear when I try to view a campground after searching by name?
A. The Location Information dialog box displays when the selected campground doesn't have a valid latitude/longitude coordinate associated with it. Rather than display the campground at an incorrect location on the map or not include the campground in the database, the dialog box appears, showing the same information as the Location Tab.

Q. I can't find a way to map out a route.  Can the program do this?
A. This function is not available in the current release.  Look for it in our next version!

Q. Where do I go if my questions were not answered here?
A. You can contact our technical support department via e-mail.
