Q. What is Trailer Life RV Campground Finder?
A. Trailer Life RV Campground Finder is the software version of Trailer Life's RV Campground Directory published by Affinity Group, Inc. It's a treasury of facts, detailed listings, and just about all the information anyone could hope for to plan an RV trip.  You'll find campgrounds with the right hook-ups, pull-throughs, and paved driveways,…   For more information on this product and the Good Sam Club, we encourage a visit to their homepage, at http://www.tldirectory.com.

Q. How do I install Trailer Life RV Campground Finder v. 2.0?
A. Version 2.0 requires a computer running Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT:

1.     With the mouse, click on "Start" and then "Run".

2.    Type in "X:\Setup.exe" (where "X" represents your CD-ROM drive      letter).

OR

1.     Double click on the icon "My computer," then click "Tlcfusamaps (X:)"  (where"X" represents the CD-ROM drive letter)

2.     Double click the icon of the application file "Setup.exe".

Q. Is there an upgrade for Trailer Life RV Campground Finder?
A. Trailer Life RV Campground Finder v. 2.0 is the latest update available

Q. Is there a manual?
A. No.  However, most operation questions can be answered using the on-line help feature.  With the program running and the CD-ROM disk in the drive, select "Help" and choose the desired topic.  Printing the topic for review away from the computer may be helpful.

Q. When I zoom in, the map turns yellow, and streets do not appear.
A. That is an indication that the program can’t locate the data on the CD-ROM disk.

1.   Make sure the CD-ROM disk is in the CD-ROM drive.

2.   In the program, select "File", "Configure", “Map Data Drive”.

3.   Select proper drive for location for map data.

It is possible that the cursor has zoomed to areas not in the United States such as Canada or Mexico.  Click the "Zoom USA" button to view the entire continent.

If, by zooming into the desired location and the specific street you are looking for does not appear, but surrounding streets do, please click here for more information.

Q. When I search for a street or city, I get the message "No matches found".
A.

It is possible that the program can’t locate the data on the CD-ROM disk, that the spelling is incorrect, or that the street or city isn’t in the database.

1. Make sure the CD-ROM disk is in the CD-ROM drive.

2. Check the spelling of the street or place. Occasionally, unexpected spaces in words are found in the
directory. For example, when looking for "DeKalb, IL", traditionally spelled as one word, the search
option will only find it if a space is added (De Kalb, IL).

3. Simplify the search by clarifying your entries. As an example, instead of looking for "South State
    Street" try looking for "State."

If roads do not appear, refer to the question "When I zoom in, the map turns yellow"

Q. When I try and print a map, sometime I get the error message, “An error was encountered while attempting to print.  Please check your default printer settings”.  I believe my printer is fine.  How do I print a map?
A. The current version will cause that error message to display if there is not a campground icon displayed onscreen.  Adjust the view so at least one campground is displayed, and you’ll be able to print without the error message.

If you need to print a map that does not happen to have a park or campground displayed on the map, please follow the instructions below.

1. Zoom into the area that you want to print.

2. Press the 'Print Screen' button located next to the F12 key on the keyboard.

2. Now, open up Microsoft Paint. (Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint)

4. Once you have opened Paint, go to 'Edit', then to 'Paste'. This will copy the image of the map into
    the program.

5. To print, go to 'File', then to 'Print'

Q. When I zoom in to the 3000 foot scale, I see small rectangles with numbers inside them.  What are they, and what do the numbers mean?
A. The blocks indicate landmarks, and the numbers refer to a landmark type – lakes, ponds, schools, cemeteries, hills, etc.  If you zoom to the 1000 foot scale or less, the landmark names and icon will replace the numbered blocks.

Q. Can I run the Program without a CD-ROM?
A. Yes. Look in your help files, under "Optimize Program Speed"

Q. I think I have found a database error. What should I do?
A. At Undertow Software, we strive to bring you the highest quality, most up to date database available. Occasionally, there will be errors or omissions in the map database we use.  In this case, make a copy of the area on the map that is incorrect (see your help topic file for exporting a map in "File Commands") and fax it to (978) 682-3077.

If you have found a problem with information pertaining to a campground, please contact the Good Sam Club via e-mail at books@tl.com

If the CD was in the drive before that message appeared, then 'no' you
don't have to wait. But if you just put the CD in the CD-ROM when it asked for it, then 'yes'

around 10 sec. to be able to access the information on the CD to run the
program correctly.
