I know that the SDK is a Windows one, but I was wondering if anyone has used it to develop an app in any other platform, since I think COM objects can be accessible in other environments, or am I wrong?

Claudia, I just saw that you had posted this question. I am also trying to find out if the features of mappro80 can be extended outside the originally intended platform, although still within the windows constraints, in this case with scilab.

If you find out any information regarding its use in other platforms, please post it, I would definitely be interested!

Your question is a bit too generic and not sure it can be answered the way it's posed. However, here are a bunch of links that may provide you with a starting point.
